About this collection

A right of way (ROW) grant is an authorization to individuals or companies to use a specific piece of public land for a certain project, such as electric transmission lines, communication sites, roads, highways, trails, telephone/fiber optic lines, canals, flumes, pipelines, and reservoirs. A ROW authorizes rights and privileges for a specific use of the land for a specific period of time. Depending on the specifics of a proposed activity, uses on the public land are either casual use or require a ROW. Publications in this collection include information on grants, regulatory information, and history.
